Swollen Lymph Nodes & BFS

Does anyone have recurrent swollen lymph nodes? This has been happening to me since my onset of BFS. Currently, I have a grape sized painful growth behind my right ear. My GP just tells me to put hot compresses on it. This is the third month I have had this.

Have you been tested for Lyme Disease? That can cause both swollen lymph nodes and twitching. I'm sure lots of other things do as well but it's just a thought. Lymph nodes swell for a reason, usually an infection or something. Even a little scratch on your head.

No I have not been tested for lyme, but I will address that with the Neuromuscular specialist in April. I just don't know why this keeps happening.

Swollen lymph nodes are also fairly common in chronic fatigue syndrome and fibromyalgia. Just some additional things to consider. As long as your doctors have ruled out any underlying infections in your body and your blood tests are all normal, then it's probably something that will resolve over time. It just might take a little while. Could be a random virus (?)....but sounds like your doc isn't overly concerned about it. Good to stay on top of all possibilities though.

Blood tests have been normal. I guess I am just lumpy and a twitcher. I have to laugh at some of this stuff or I would go crazy.

Lovely,
I have a friend who, around her cycle each month, has enlarged lymph nodes in her armpit...She also has fibrocystic disease of the breast (A benign, but uncomfortable condition), although I don't think it's related to that. I always thought that enlarged nodes were due to infection, (if they're painful) and can be from other things like cancer, in which case, are usually not painful.. But, I've also read that other conditions like CFS and FM can also cause it. Go figure!!
