Lip Twitching: Muscle or Fles?

Hi, I've read all over here that people have lip twitching. I looked up the facial muscles and the lips themselves aren't muscles, right? I read that lips move because of the surrounding mouth muscles. So, I assume then, that when people have lip twitching, it's more like their lips are being lifted up, to kind of make them look like they are impersonating Elvis. But not that their lips, the fleshy part, are twitching. I am asking because I can't tell if my lip is twitching or if it's tingling with tiny twitches that I can't see. It's happening in the fleshy part. I have been having a persistent twitch in my right cheek and jaw muscle, a month now. I've also bitten the right side of my cheek and my right lip a few times lately, so I'm worried. Still wiping excess saliva since Oct now.Not slurring, choking or swallowing, but my teeth are getting hung on my lower lip. Anyone else get this?

I have tongue, lip, neck and face twitches. My neurologist dismisses most of them and he claims to be an ALS specialist. I have some doubts because he chose to do an EMG of my tongue (CLEAN) when I demonstrated what it does. Others, don't bother because they seem to know off the bat if it is worrisome. Sorry to say, we must cease and surrender the control we want to have over our body, accept and adapt. There's nothing we can do about it. Hard to say and abide, but it's the truth.

Thanks, but my question was more about where the twitching is, in the lips. Do you get them just in the fleshy part, or is it more around or on the outside of your lips?

With these symptoms, do you or have you had lip, cheek or tongue biting, where they are getting caught or get in the way? I have a few sores in my mouth, but only on the right side, and just from the past couple days. Have to make a concious effort to keep the lips, cheek and tongue clear of my teeth when yawning, talking, etc.

I've had every lip, mouth, face, neck, eye twitch known to man. Sometimes they come for a bit and leave or stay for weeks/months. The inside of my mouth (near the right side of my lip area) is currently still healing from the last time I bit it. That was the third time I bit it in the past 2 months and it bled profusely for the better part of 15 minutes. I have bitten the inside of my cheek/lip and tongue far too many times that I can count or remember. I've been enjoying BFS for the past 10 years and still enjoy it. ;)

Yea I am really worried about this biting ....mainly my tongue. It's like the tip gets snagged in my front teeth...I also have excess saliva, constantly wiping the corners of my mouth, and those two symptoms with check twitching...making me crazy!
