    Neuritis & New Symptoms: Update

I have SFN as well (diagnosed about 4 years ago through skin biopsies of the leg). I'm not diabetic, nor do I drink, but I failed a glucose tolerance test -- badly. I also have a history of CFS/Fibromyalgia and I do feel weakness, especially on the left side. With 20 years of twitching. 4 years...

    New Here, Constant Twitches

Just returned to my last post almost two years later. It's weirdly comforting to see I was worrying about the SAME EXACT problems in Nune 2015, and I'm still fully functional. I have some atrophy in left inner foot (abductor ____) left calf and nonstop humming in that foot (also occasionally...

Fourth EMG With No ALS Signs

You sound like me. A combination of things can cause this. BFS, small fiber neuropathy, nerve impingement, thyroid and blood sugar issues, EBV, damage from the herpesvirus family, etc. MND is relatively rare and you're more likely to have other issues causing this. I'd tell you to get an EMG but...

    New Here, Constant Twitches

Problem here is that (although I've had twitching 18 years) I'm losing muscle in left ankle and calf, and it's noticeably weaker. Not to the point of foot drop, but I could stand on my RIGHT FOOT ALL DAY. The left foot for maybe 15 seconds before I start to lose balance. I've posted on here...

Pain & Weakness in Left Index Finger

Funny, as I was reading this, I was taking, "I bet he's testing that poor pinky finger non-stop, and what was a slight, normal difference in strength has now been exacerbated." It's amusing how an objective perspective can easily pinpoint the problem, but subjectively (when it's YOUR life on...

Left Foot Pain: Need Second Opinion

My feet look almost identical. I've felt that my left foot, leg and arm are weaker (left calf is almost an inch thinner) and I've had widespread twitching for over 18 years. I've never had an EMG but have seen multiple docs and when I mention MND they roll their eyes. I do have SFN which often...

    Neuritis & New Symptoms: Update

I'm here to tell you that (following skin biopsies in my left leg) that I was dx'd with SFN at all three sample sites ...the upper calf, the lower thigh above knee and mid thigh. I found that mine was a result of glucose (not gluten) intolerance that I've probably had for some time. I researched...

    Tingling Arms and Legs Issue

Count me in. I took a short nap lying on my left side earlier and awoke with my entire left arm numb and dead (if an alarm clock had rung, I couldn't have shut it off). Happens to legs, feet, even my rear end. Didn't realize so many other BFS folks had this too. Maybe we're onto something?

Awaiting Neurologist & BFS Pain Issues

My name is also Ree Ann (diff spelling). I'm so happy that your EMG was normal... I've never had one before. Hope that you'll be worry free

    BFS Update: a Positive Perspective

Thank you for an insider's perspective. I am now approaching 19 years since my fasciculations and limb fatigue began. I have also obsessed over a thinner left calf and "weakness" in my left arm and leg...I have never had an EMG and do not intend to get one. I'll tell you what I DO have...

Question about Python programming Python Programming Questions

Was just finally diagnosed (a few months ago) with SFN which explains so much. I've also been told I have fibromyalgia (and believe I've had it for 18+ years). My physician believes that I may have an intolerance to sugar (not the same as diabetes) and may be sending me to Mayo Clinic in the...

    Finding Stylish Sandals in Beijing

Yep I can. I've had mild fascics since developing Fibromyalgia back in 1996-97. About 6 months ago I also started feeling weaker on my left side. Mt left calf is 3/4" smaller than the right, and my whole left side in general is more twitchy, more achey and seems to tire more quickly. It's...

    Trying to Overcome Twitching

I have every symptom you have AND nearly an inch difference between left and right calves. Been twitching 18 years, but the last six have been exacerbated. You also have fatigue and may want to read up on ME/CFS and fibromyalgia. It's so hard to believe something so dramatic is benign, but...

Dealing with Fascism & Panic: My Story

Welcome to our world (although I'm sure you'd prefer to be elsewhere). I've had Fibromyalgia and CFS for about 18 years, and the fascics started at the same time. The past six months, mine have been in overdrive (I feel it may be hormonal, as I'm in perimenopause). Like you, the paresthesias are...

    Right Knee Twitching 24+ Hours

I have the same situation with my left calf, but the muscles still feel good and strong. I also get a lot of twitching there, but it's not progressing, so I must assume it's been that way for a while and I just realized it. Twitching or feelings of weakness will draw your attention to an area...
