Kerri, I get this frequently. Sometimes it feels like bugs and sometimes it feels like cobwebs brushing the skin. It's mostly on my hands and arms. I suspect it's very slight fasiculations, but I've never been able to see anything.
Kerri,
I've had the bug crawling sensation occasionally for a couple years. It's mostly on the back of my hands and arms. If I look at my hand while its feeling that way, I think I see a tiny muscle movement. But I try not to focus on it. Just ignore it and it seems to go away faster.
I get the back vibrations a lot, especially when I'm tired. The fact that you can lift weights for 30 minutes proves there's nothing "weak" about your muscles! That's fantastic!
My calf muscle sometimes feels tight, like its about to cramp up. I used to have a lot of muscle cramps when the BFS first started. Fewer now. Soaking in a hot tub sometimes helped. Sometimes it just goes away for no apparent reason.
Kerri, I get the buzzing sensation on my hands a lot. Fortunately, it doesn't last long and seems to move around. I also get a lot of other strange sensations, like a feeling that cobwebs are brushing my skin. You're not alone!
Fidget, I have a lot of "non-twitching" sensations. Got them before the twitches. Sometimes it feels like cobwebs are brushing my hands. Also, I've had a feeling like a trickle of water down the back of my calf. So you
definitely are not alone with this!
NoraFL, I've had twitching in my thumbs before and also across the back of the hand. Sometimes it feels like something is crawling across my hand. I've also had the chin twitch you mentioned.
If you can lift weights with no weakness, I think you're in pretty good shape. Try not to worry...
I had a brain MRI just before my twitches started because of a really bad sinus problem and sewrious headaches I was having, and they wanted to make sure I didn't have a brain tumor or anything. It came back clear. About 2 months later, I started twitching.
If you look on an MS web site where...
Just curious.... has anyone else in had the following blood tests: ANA (Anti-Nuclear Antibodies) or RA (Rheumatoid factor)?
If so, did anyone have positive results?
I have a positive ANA (1:160 Homogeneous) and high Rheumatoid factor. I don't really have much joint pain or inflammation, but...
Nole,
I sometimes have what I call "the jitters" at bedtime and occasionally earlier in the evening. Seems worse when the muscles are tired. It feels like the kind of trembling you do when you're nervous about something, although I can't always relate it to any particular anxiety, so I'm...

CarolMarie,
I sometimes get a feeling I'd describe as "fluttery" around my eyes. I've also had a "crawling sensation" in various places. Seems like there are a lot of strange sensations associated with BFS.
AHHh...pain....that's the worst part! I could deal with the twitches if there was no pain or fatigue involved. I get the pein just like you describes. It's not really a cramp because the muscle doesnt tighten. My neuro said something about "benign-muscle-pain-fasciculation-syndrome"....who...
